Your temperament is the part of you that was there first, before your upbringing, your job title, or the habits you built to survive. Personality is what you learned. Temperament is what you were given.
Repairer of Cities is Temperament Studies counseling. A Temperament Analysis finds your true inborn temperament in the places it actually shows up: how you take in affection, how you handle control, how you move toward people. Then we sit down together and work out what it means for your real life.
The analysis itself
You complete a structured temperament assessment. Then I walk you through exactly what the results say, and just as carefully, what they do not say.
The conversation
We sit with the findings together. Where has your wiring been working for you? And where have you been fighting how you were made, then calling it a character flaw? That question is the one people tell me they remember.
What you take with you
You leave with a written profile and language you can actually use at home, at work, and in ministry. Understanding is the beginning. Walking in it is the point.
The Four Temperaments
Most people recognize themselves inside a minute of reading these. That flicker of recognition is the doorway. The analysis is what makes it precise.
Warm, expressive, people-energized. Walks into a room and the room changes. Needs to be needed, and can say yes to more than one person can carry.
Driven, decisive, built to lead. Sees the goal and the path to it immediately. Strength here can read as hardness to the people closest in.
Deep, faithful, detail-true. Feels things all the way down and thinks before moving. Holds a standard so high that it can turn inward as self-judgment.
Steady, peaceable, unshakeable. The calm in a family or a team. Keeps the peace so well that their own needs can go unspoken for years.
Almost no one is a single temperament straight through. You may lead one way and love another. The analysis shows you the combination, and the combination is where the useful part lives.

I started Repairer of Cities because I kept meeting people working hard to fix something that was never broken. They had been told they were too much, or too quiet, or too intense. And they believed it.
Temperament Studies gave me language for what I was seeing. When someone understands how they were actually made, the shame starts to come off. The work after that is still work, but it is finally the right work.
I do this one person at a time, in Charlotte and by video. If something here is landing, that is usually worth paying attention to.

This is faith-based temperament counseling. It is not clinical therapy and not a substitute for mental health treatment. If you are working with a therapist, this often sits alongside that work well. If you need clinical care, I will tell you so plainly.
Personality tests generally measure how you behave now - which reflects what you have learned and adapted to. Temperament looks at the wiring underneath that, the part that was there before the adapting started.
No. The framework is faith-based and I will not hide that. But the findings about how you are wired are useful to anyone willing to look honestly at themselves.
